Youth-Senior Choir and Band Program

– Uniting Generations Through Music in 2026

 

We’re thrilled to introduce the Youth-Senior Choir and Band Program, a vibrant initiative launching in 2026 to foster intergenerational bonds, artistic growth, and community spirit through music. This program brings together youth and seniors in Durham Region to create, perform, and connect, celebrating Canada’s multicultural tapestry.

 

A Shared Musical Journey

 

Starting in Q4 2026, the program will unite 50+ youth choir members and 10-15 band members with seniors from local care facilities and community groups. Through weekly rehearsals led by a professional Choir Director, Band Leader, and Vocal Coach, participants will hone their vocal and instrumental skills while building meaningful relationships. The repertoire will reflect diverse cultural traditions, promoting inclusivity and connection.
